Skippy's take away from traveling for 2.5years

  1. You can't always rely on your partner to change their behavior. In my opinion, traveling alone in an effort to avoid dealing with someone's flaws says more about you than your partner. Anyway, I find it hard to believe Wolfi has any flaws! I bet you think Wolfi is posting this! :-) Well I guess one flaw Wolfi has is that he wears those black dress socks with shorts! And maybe that he likes BMWs! :-) Skippy chose a better motorcycle in my opinion.

I'm surprised that you are not finding better bananas in Central & South America. Typically there are only a few types of bananas imported into North American and Europe. There are far 'better' tasting bananas to be found regionally that don't get exported because of limitations growing and shipping. Those 'better' tasting bananas typically don't ship well. Good luck on the rest of your trip.

    1. I am happy I have those socks, they were the only ones in my size which I found after a heavy shop search :D

One thing one should remember about the bikes is that Skippy weighs close to nothing and like her camping gear was on my bike, as well as all the dog stuff and kitchen things, spare parts etc.
Weight is a killing factor for a bike - the lighter the better!

  2. Hi to both of you,
as far as I understand nothing has really changed but the vehicle Skippy is riding. So you still ride together and you still share your room. Does that mean Skippy has changed her mind? I wish you all the best.

    1. Hello Brandon,
sharp observation. Well, we both wanted some fresh air after Medellin and Skippy is working on her cookbook which means that I get plenty of goodies :) I would say for time being we are heading into the same direction but there are some dark clouds coming as the next travelogue will tell...

  3. Refreshing to hear your field proven experience that people innately want to help. My sentiment as well. -Colum
